Pause a campaign
How to pause a campaign from Klaaryo and, if it's linked to an ATS, lock its status so the sync doesn't reactivate it.
Updated on Oct 12, 2026
Where to find it: Campaigns → the campaign's "…" menu → Pause.
What happens when you pause
- Conversations already started with candidates are completed.
- The agent doesn't start new conversations while the campaign is paused.
- The campaign stays in the list with the status "Paused", and all its data can still be viewed.
- Interviews already booked remain valid. If you archive the campaign instead, interviews already booked are canceled.
Steps
- Open Campaigns and find the campaign you want to pause.
- Click the "…" menu on the right and choose Pause.

- If the campaign is linked to an ATS, in the "Do you want to pause the campaign?" window turn on Lock this status (see below).
- Confirm with Pause.

Campaigns linked to an ATS: lock the status
At every sync, the campaign status goes back to following the status of the position in the ATS. Without a lock, a pause you set by hand would be undone at the next sync.
With Lock this status on, the sync respects the pause until you unlock it. The lock only applies to the status: name, questions, locations and interview details keep coming from the ATS, and the job ad stays published where it is.
In the campaigns list, a locked campaign shows a lock icon next to its status.

Reactivate the campaign
- Reactivate it by hand from the "…" menu: the status stays under your control.
- Unlock the status from the "…" menu → Lock status: the campaign goes back to following the status set in the ATS.
Common issues
- I paused the campaign but it reactivated on its own. The campaign is linked to an ATS and the status wasn't locked: pause it again with "Lock this status" on.
- We used to put the #manual hashtag in the job ad. You no longer need it to pause a campaign: use the status lock in Klaaryo.
