How to create a campaign
Create a new campaign starting from a job role or setting up questions and criteria by hand.
Updated on Oct 12, 2026
You create a campaign for every search you open. You can start from a ready-made job role (recommended) or set up questions and criteria from scratch.
Where to find it: sidebar → Recruiting → Campaigns → New campaign
Before you start
- If the position is recurring, create the job role first. See How to create a new job role.
- Have the job description ready and, if there is one, the link to the job ad.
- Check that the locations exist in Settings → Organization → Locations.
Steps
Creation is split into steps: Information, Conversation instructions, Customization, Context, Interviews, Test and launch. If your company has Klaaryo's ATS module, there are also the job ad steps: job description, application form and Publication on job boards. Without the ATS module, the campaign is made only of conversation instructions and interviews.
- Go to Campaigns and click New campaign.
- Write the Campaign name (e.g. Addetto/a vendite – Roma).
- Choose the Campaign owner. You can't change it after creation.
- Add the Collaborators who need to see candidates and conversations.
- Choose the agent and the Campaign language.
- Fill in the information: Description of the position, Job description URL, Job position, Company name.
- In the conversation instructions, choose how to set up the questions:
- Select Job Role: choose a job role and check questions, filters, criteria and FAQs.
- Create manually: write the questions, filters and criteria yourself.
- Decide whether to turn on Send a follow-up to candidates.
- In the context, add the locations you're hiring for and the campaign's FAQs.
- Choose how candidates are invited to the interview. See How to set up a campaign's interviews.
- Test the conversation before launching. See How to test a campaign before launch.
Until you launch it, the campaign stays in the Draft filter.
If you set up the questions by hand
- Questions: what to ask. See How to write a job role's screening questions.
- Filters: automatic exclusion rules (e.g. age under 18).
- Criteria: what counts in the evaluation, with a Minimum passing score (e.g. 60). See Filters and evaluation criteria: how they work and how they differ.
Good to know
- Questions or criteria changed in the campaign don't change the original job role.
- The follow-up is sent if the candidate doesn't reply within 6 hours. The agent sends a contextual message to prompt a reply. See What happens if the candidate doesn't reply (follow-up and 24-hour window).
- The location name the candidate reads in messages is the Location name, in the Stores you are hiring for block. See Change the location name the candidate sees.
- The opening message is an agent template. You edit it in the Agent section. See What the Agent is and what you can configure.
- If you have the ATS module and the job ad goes on Indeed, see Publish job ads on Indeed from Klaaryo (beta). If you publish directly on Indeed, see How to receive Indeed applications in Klaaryo.
Common issues
I can't find the job role in the list. You can only link active job roles. Draft or archived ones don't appear.
I picked the wrong owner. The owner can't be changed after creation. If needed, create a new campaign.
The candidate sees the wrong location. Check the Location name in the campaign's Settings tab.
How do I change questions and criteria after launch? From the Settings tab → Conversation. It only applies to new conversations.
