How to edit, duplicate or archive a job role
Edit a job role from Recruiting → Job roles or for one campaign only, duplicate a job role and archive the ones you no longer use.
Updated on Oct 12, 2026
You can edit a job role in two places: in the job role itself, which works as a template, or inside a single campaign.
Where to find it: Recruiting → Job roles (template) or campaign → Settings tab → Conversation block (that campaign only)
Which change you need
| You want to change | Where | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| The template for all campaigns | Recruiting → Job roles | Applies to new campaigns and to the ones you choose after saving |
| One campaign only | Campaign → Settings → Conversation | Applies to that campaign only |

Steps: edit the job role (template)
- Go to Recruiting → Job roles. Filter by status if needed.
- Click … on the card and then Edit role.
- Read the notice: changes do NOT apply on their own to campaigns that already exist.
- Change FAQs, questions, filters or criteria.
- Save in the Summary step.
- Choose the campaigns in which to apply the job role changes.
Steps: edit one campaign only
- Go to Recruiting → Campaigns and open the campaign.
- Open the Settings tab and the Conversation block.
- Click Edit next to Questions or Criteria.
- Save.

Steps: duplicate a job role
- In Recruiting → Job roles, click … on the job role card.
- Click Duplicate.
- Rename the copy and edit it.
Steps: archive a job role
- In Recruiting → Job roles, click … on the job role card.
- Click Archive role. You can also do it with Archive from the job role detail page.
- Confirm.
Good to know
- If you change a campaign's Role (the Role row → Edit), the campaign's questions, filters and criteria are overwritten with those of the new job role.
- Changes made in the campaign don't change the original job role.
- Before editing a job role used by many campaigns, consider duplicating it.
- An archived job role can't be chosen for new campaigns and can't be edited. Campaigns that use it keep using it.
- Changes apply to new conversations. Anyone who has already finished screening keeps their outcome.
What Duplicate copies
The copy of the job role also includes the questions and evaluation criteria: you just need to adapt them. The job role's Internal notes are notes for your team and aren't used to evaluate candidates.
Common issues
I edited questions and criteria but the agent still uses the old ones. If you edited the job role, apply the changes to campaigns that already exist. If you edited the campaign, check that you saved.
I changed a question in the campaign and now it doesn't match the job role. That's expected. A change in the campaign only applies there.
How do I reactivate an archived job role? An archived job role can't be reactivated. If you need it again, use Duplicate before archiving it or create a new job role.
