Manual or automatic interview invitation: what's the difference
With Automatic invitations the agent invites the eligible candidate right away; with Manual, the interview manager first decides whether to invite them.

The interview invitation starts differently depending on the campaign's Interview Invitation Mode. With Automatic the agent invites the eligible candidate right away. With Manual you decide who to invite.
Where to find it: campaign → Settings tab → Interview Invitation Mode block → Edit. Read How to set up a campaign's interviews.

The modes
| Automatic | Manual | |
|---|---|---|
| Who decides on the invitation | The agent, as soon as the candidate is eligible | The interview manager, who chooses Invite or Do not invite |
| When the invitation goes out | Right away, if there are free slots | After approval, if there are free slots |
| When it makes sense | High volumes, clear criteria | More careful selection or more people involved |
With No interviews the agent ends the evaluation without offering interviews.
How the manual invitation works
- The agent evaluates the candidate.
- The candidate passes the evaluation.
- The candidate waits for an invitation. Until someone decides, they don't get the invitation.
- The interview manager opens Interviews → Manage my interviews → Pending requests. On their own platform they find Pending invitation requests on the Home page.
- The interview manager clicks Invite or Do not invite.
Good to know
- After approval, the app checks for free slots. If there are any, the candidate gets the invitation right away.
- If there are no free slots, the candidate stays in Waiting for interview. They get the invitation as soon as you open new slots.
- A candidate waiting for a slot waits at most 7 days. Then, if they have other applications, the agent moves on to the next one.
- You can force the invitation for a single candidate from the chat: Quick actions → Invite to interview.
- To manage the list, read How to handle pending invitation requests.
Common issues
The candidate is eligible but didn't get the invitation. If the invitation is manual, approval is missing. Check Pending requests.
I approved but the candidate can't see the slots. There are probably no sessions with free spots. Read I invited the candidate but they can't see the slots.
How do I switch from manual to automatic? In the campaign, open Settings → Interview Invitation Mode → Edit, choose Automatic and click Save.
